Whilst the initial reasons for working from home were born out of necessity to help stop the spread of the coronavirus, with the roll out of the vaccines and relaxing of lockdown rules, people’s decision to continue working from home now comes from choice and feasibility.
For the legal sector, solicitors have still been able to work very effectively from home, which is not a luxury many other industries have had.
The pandemic proved that remote working could work, but only if digital investment is made to help accelerate the potential of either remote or hybrid working – which 42% of UK law firms stating it has improved working practices throughout their firm.
From video conferencing software to hosted cloud telephony, the rise and sophistication of digital technologies has helped facilitate the recent transition to remote working for many firms, with the most essential overhaul involving the communications systems.
A flexible telephony system is specifically important to achieving this, with this referring to a setup that’s integrated with other communications methods, such as video calls and emails, allowing solicitors to communicate effectively with fellow colleagues and enquirers.
Firms that still use old PSTN telephones require them to be in the office, whilst a hosted telephony system allows for unified communications, enhanced productivity and a major cost saving measure.
Optimising them enables staff to interact with colleagues and clients effectively and carry out work seamlessly, no matter where they are, whether that’s in the office or working remotely.
