In this episode we hear from Melanie McGuirk, Partner at Pannone Corporate LLP, Emma Lewis, Managing Director at EL Law and Naana Kufuor, Solicitor at JMW Solicitors LLP.

Our friends at Manchester Camerata pride themselves on being relentlessly pioneering and have a long history of collaborative research. Be it working with top academics in the field of dementia or working with new technologies to explore what's next in the world of performance; as an organisation, they put research at the heart of what we do.

In their latest project, they are teaming up with The University of Manchester and the RNCM to investigate the psychological and physiological differences between experiencing live and digital music.

They are currently recruiting participants to take part in this project, which involves measuring audience responses to a private performance from a string quartet. So, if you think you can spare a couple of hours in the daytime on the weekend of the 17th/18th of September in Manchester, they'd love to hear from you.

When SearchFlow interviewed commercial real estate lawyers about technology in 2021, two-thirds of law firms told us they had a defined digitisation roadmap, yet only 29% of firms were actively using AI and automation. It was clear that, while AI is recognised as an important enabler for law firms, there was still uncertainty about embracing it – for many, the leap just seemed too big.

But we are changing that, by pursuing AI-led product innovation, hand-in-hand with our law firm customers. The result for those customers? A strong use case and accessible entry point to adopting AI as a tech enabler. Less of a giant leap and more of a comfortable and certain step forward.

The innovations in question, Title Data Service and Interpreted Search, harness AI to tackle the challenge of time-consuming title risk assessment, rapidly accelerating the task without compromising on rigour. One early user, a commercial real estate client, used Title Data Service to draw down OC1s from HM Land Registry and apply AI to layer on title risk insights on a single 150-property portfolio transaction, resulting in a near-automatic visual breakdown of title risk. They reported that the fee-earning and professional support time saved on this transaction translated to cost savings of an estimated £10,000. The firm is now moving confidently and decisively towards AI, telling us: There’s that old adage that lawyers and technology don't mix, but this is a super-easy step into AI-enabled legaltech.”

AI is here to stay and for property law firms, its considerable benefits are just a small step, not a giant leap, away. Tools like SearchFlow’s Title Data Service and Interpreted Search are a great place to start reaping the rewards. And if that sounds like a step you’d like to take, talk to us.
