We’re pleased to confirm the Employment Law Committee is already planning the 2024 MLS Employment Law Conference following the success of the 2023 Conference in February.

At this year’s event, we had three fantastic speakers covering the following topics: Tribunal update and reform from REJ Franey; The Future of Work with Tessa Hollingworth from Hays; and an overview of the fantastic work undertaken by the ECHR by Clare Armstrong their Principal in Legal, Litigation and Advisory Team.

We have a date and a venue for 2024, now we just need to decide on the topics.

We’re planning to include a case/legal update to cover recent cases and the various new employment laws that are expected to come into force in 2024.

This means we have two more speaker slots to fill so it would be great if you could send us ideas for topics to cover. Whether it’s a technical legal update on TUPE or Whistleblowing, a practical session on a topical issue like AI in the workplace, or old favourites like EDI or managing stress, all ideas gratefully received!

Please email your suggestions to the Committee Chairs Jo Handler at jo.handler@forbessolicitors.co.uk and Bryn Doyle at bryn.doyle@squirepb.com by Friday 7 July

We look forward to seeing you at next year’s Conference!

It’s a question we’ve been asking quite a bit recently, and the responses have been mixed to say the least. Whilst there are undoubtedly outstanding MSPs out there, feedback from several of our new (and potential) clients has been an emphatic “no”.

Lots of companies are fed up with the customer service they’re receiving. In some cases, it’s non-existent. They’re citing not being able to get in touch with anyone or no-one getting back to them when there’s an issue. We all know how annoying this can be, right? We rely so heavily now on IT systems so, when they crash or there’s a problem, it’s imperative to solve it as quickly as possible. Delays equal lost revenue, missed opportunities, disgruntled customers and frustrated employees.

Then there’s the elephant in the room. Price increases. “In order to continue to deliver the levels of service you’re accustomed to, we have no choice but to increase our prices across the board.” Sound familiar?

We understand that several of our competitors have recently implemented price increases for a variety of reasons. And the levels of service they’re offer don’t exactly match the premium price tag. Quite the opposite in fact. Dire service levels, no-one to help deal with a problem, platforms crashing every few days and systems that still rely on legacy kit. Not ideal and certainly not worth paying more for.

Price increases combined with ongoing poor service levels and old business models that are prone to the effects of rising energy costs appear to have created the perfect storm in our industry. However, here at etiCloud we’re proud to be bucking the trend.

From day one, we’ve done things differently. We’ve built our business around our customers, putting them at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we haven’t increased our prices – and we no plans to – because we know it’s tough out there. And that’s why our Customer Excellence Team is always available to help and support if there is ever a problem. And they’re real people who care about your business as much as you do. They know how important it is to get back up and running or to provide a solution as quickly as possible.

We’re the first to admit we’re not perfect. But we do have the best intentions. So, if we make a mistake or we miss something, we bend over backwards to make it right as quickly as is humanly possible. Put us to the test and see. Or chat to one of our existing customers. They’ll give you a candid review.

After reading this post, you think: “nope, my MSP isn’t getting it right”, don’t put up with it a day longer. Let’s have a chat.

You can call us on 0333 358 2222, email ts@everythingthatis.cloud or book an appointment to suit your schedule here.
