Over the last few weeks little wooden huts have been popping up all over the city centre. It can mean only one thing – the Christmas Markets are back!

The markets open today, Friday 12 November, and you get your fill of mulled wine and delicious treats right up until Wednesday 22 December. The Piccadilly and Cathedral Gardens sites will even be open right up to the 2 January.

The markets across Manchester will be open daily Monday to Sunday from 10am. Food and drinks stalls will be open to 9pm each night, while most other stalls close at 8pm.

Over the last 20 years we have gone from roughly 24% of the UK population having access to the internet to almost 95% of the population today. That level of penetration has opened countless doors from remote learning to connecting with friends and family across the world all becoming a little bit easier. It has also removed the barriers of entry for new firms establishing themselves in new and established markets.

At Conscious we recently sat down with AM Skinner Solicitors about his unusual path in the legal sector. Starting his working career at the Ministry of Defence, Andrew went on to become a Chartered Engineer before his career took an exciting diversion when he was called as an expert witness in an industrial injury claim. Andrew watched the solicitor and thought to himself ‘that’s something that I could do’. And so, he did, initiating the process to train as a solicitor while working full time. Fast forward a couple of years and Andrew has established his practise in international trade law. He reflects that there was a lot about running his own business that he needed to learn and quickly.

Andrew tasked the Conscious team with helping position himself as the expert he is and to generate leads for his fledging practise. What made Andrew’s case so interesting for our team was the fact that it was in such a niche field of law, we couldn’t just run a generic PPC campaign or some local SEO. We really had to collaborate with Andrew to understand who were the businesses and individuals that were grappling with complicated export laws, and with the seemingly ambiguous nature of the post Brexit rule book.

Andrew has seen steady improvement in results over the past year and from a zero base is now seeing 15-30 leads per month as a result of his new website and PPC campaign.

Andrew credits Account Manager Katie Blake as being a major asset to getting the partnership right, ‘I think she’s great, she is really on the ball, and sorts things out straight away.’

We are looking forward to seeing AM Skinner Solicitors thrive, and if you want to find out how we can help your firm online get in touch.
